Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Details Leaked Before Official Launch On November 1

Himalayan 450 Launch: Renowned motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield is all set to redefine adventure with its latest creation - the Himalayan 450. Though the new Himalayan 450 will be launched on November 1, 2023, the details and specifications of the bike have surfaced online before its scheduled launch. As per the leaks, the new Himalayan 450 is likely to retain some design language from the current Himalayan 411. Some things including the trellis frame on this motorcycle are brand new.

The Himalayan 450 has an all-LED headlamp up front that appears to have been taken from the Super Meteor 650 with a smoked windscreen sitting on top of it. As opposed to the existing Himalayan, the headlamp assembly is now directly attached to the chassis. The bike has split-type front fenders and LED turn indicators. The front pannier stays have been updated with loops for mounting luggage.

The switchgear is all new, and the new handlebar is wide and almost flat. Instead of the present Himalayan's boxy-shaped fuel tank, Royal Enfield has chosen one with a round shape. The side panels and the tail section each feature a similar flowing style. It has a brand-new split-seat design and a new baggage rack with a top box mount is located at the back. The new Himalayan 450 will also replace the steel pipe kickstand with a cast kickstand.

In terms of the bike's components, it is evident from the spy shots that the new Himalayan 450 will have an upside-down fork layout up front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the back. The brake discs are new and have a different design, though they are probably the same size. The motorcycle will keep its 21-19 inch wire-spoke wheel arrangement and dual-purpose Ceat tyres as its wheels. Expect the new Himalayan 450 to include traction control in addition to dual-channel ABS.

A new liquid-cooled engine from Royal Enfield will be fitted in for the Himalayan 450 with a displacement of 450cc. The predicted power output of the engine is around 35–40 bhp. It will be connected to a 6-speed gearbox. Additionally, this mill will be encompassed in a number of future Royal Enfield models.

In terms of the Himalayan 450 structure, the chassis is completely new because it uses the engine as a highlighted component. The rear subframe is a bolt-on assembly. We anticipate that the chassis will be much stronger and better able to withstand riding on various terrains.

The kerb weight of the current Himalayan is 199 kg; the new model is likely to weigh less than that. Royal Enfield is likely to price the new Himalayan 450 at approximately Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Himalayan 450 will face competition from the BMW G 310 GS and KTM 390 Adventure.
